My terrible 2-some… Posted by Katie

Kyne is leading RJ onto a bad path…I know he is bored and I know he isn’t getting all the stimulation he needs at home (we stay home a lot since I became pregnant, and he’s out of preschool for the summer), but he is driving me insane. I feel so guilty when I get angry and then I feel sad because it’s my fault…but he knows better and he knows what he’s doing is wrong.

Today he poured nail polish all over the front room carpet (while I was in the shower). It won’t come out of course…so our new carpets are ruined.

I told them both off (RJ was in on it too – covered in nail polish) and sent them upstairs to play in the playroom until lunch time.

Well Kyne knows how to open Talon’s bedroom door now (it has the door handle lock on) and he got out Talon’s Alien-Martian maker (bright colored gel that you ‘bake’ into molds) and poured all 4 colors over the carpet upstairs.

I am just done with his behavior today.

My fault I am sure…but I am done.

Update Posted by Katie

Talon – He started 5th grade 2 weeks ago at a new school..and he is really seeming to enjoy it. He is making friends at school and on the bus (he rides the bus home every day) and I a really pleased with the school so far.

He did well on his EOG’s (which we were worried about) and happily made it into 5th grade :)

Here he is:

028

This was on July 4th, sitting in a fire truck :)

Tayah – She started Kindergarten last week and she just loves it so much!  She has a wonderful teacher and is making lots of friends. She rides the bus home with her brother every day and loves that too. This week has been her first full week and she is very tired every night (cranky) but is still doing well. She loves playing with her brothers and is becoming a great helper around the house.

Kyne – My big 3 year old…he is still so precious, but getting more and more cheeky/naughty at the months pass :) When he’s with his brother (RJ) they are little terrors and cause so much havoc. I can’t wait for him to get back into preschool in August. He can’t wait either ;)

RJ – My little trouble maker…he is adorable, but likes the naughty life! – He turns 2 next month (amazing) and is so smart, strong and funny. He is the most loving (hugging and kissing) of our kids and really enjoys mommy and daddy time still. He isn’t potty trained yet, but we work on it. He can poop and pee on there, and often does…but I am not consistent yet. He is also starting preschool in August, which will be a huge adjustment for him…he is a momma’s boy and I know it’s going to be difficult…but worth it in the end.

Time flies when you are so busy with 4 kids :)

I need to figure out my password so I can write a nice long update from my laptop (signed in automatically on my PC, which I never go on anymore…so still not sure what my password is).

I have lots of pics to post and lots of exciting things happening. Stay tuned…

RJ’s 18 Month Check-Up. Posted by Katie

RJ had his 18 month appt on March 9, 2010. He cried pretty much the entire time we were there (he cries a lot). He didn’t want the Dr touching, looking or even acknowledging him! – I thought maybe he was cutting new teeth or maybe even had the start of an ear-infection because he was being such a pill, but no. Nothing. He is fit and healthy.

We did get a prescription for his outrageous eczema, which he’s had his entire life. He gets terrible flare-ups, over his whole body apart from the groin area. We often blame his crabbiness on the eczema! – I know it must be uncomfortable for him :(

He weighed 23lbs 8oz and was 33 inches tall.

He still sits rear-facing in his car seat and is totally fine with it. I plan to keep him that was until he reaches the weight limit. We kept Kyne rear-facing until 21 months…and only moved him because he has the longest legs ever! Poor thing was so cramped. RJ has tons of room in his car seat because the chair back reclines more.

We didn’t get any shots. I think he’s had 3 vaccines only so far. I hope to catch-up a little at his 2yr appt. I am not against vaccines, I just don’t agree with the massive amount they get as infants. I like to space them out and do more after the 2yr point.

Kyne isn’t fully vax’d so he has a lot of catching up to do also.

The kiddos. Posted by Katie

feb19-3

My three youngest…they are growing and changing so fast. Tayah turned 5 in January and starts Kindergarten in July. She is very ready!

feb19-8

Kyne turns 3 in a couple weeks. He attends Tayah’s preschool now and really enjoys it. He is such a smarty-pants :)

feb19-7

RJ will be 2 in August. He will be starting preschool Aug 16, along with Kyne. I will have 2 mornings a week completely free of kids for the first time in…well, I don’t even remember, but a LONG time. He is so clever and funny. He says everything possible, is a real talker just like his brother.

feb19-9

My oldest:

Talon starts a new school in July (the same one Tayah is going to). It is a year-round school so I’m really happy with that. He will be 10 in April…yes…TEN! wow…amazing. I will have a 10 year old child.

Kitchen and foyer. The foyer is actually one of my favorite parts of the house. Who knew a large, formal foyer could be so loved :) We’re getting a salt-water fish tank this week from Crit and it’s going in the foyer. We plan to get a ‘Nemo’ fish first ;)

Wow. Posted by Katie

Has it really been this long since I posted on here?!?!

I really hate it when I do that, it seems life just takes over and I never have the time or want to post on here.

I stumbled across the webpage and was utterly mesmerized by the old posts and photos and the ramblings of my little monsters. I vow to keep up this blog from now on. I know I’ve said it before, and I am sure it will happen again…but I am going to try to keep it up.

Things went crazy when we sold our former house within 8 days of putting it on the market. We hadn’t even found a house we wanted to move to when we got the offer, and so everything turned a little mad.

We eventually found our dream house a couple of days after getting the offer. It was in the process of being built…all 2800sq ft of it! – 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, large eat-in kitchen with granite counters and stainless steal appliances. Large upstairs playroom…walk-up attic AND an un-finished storage room with a window that we plan to finish to make the 6th bedroom.

We actually made an offer on the house while it was in the framing stage! Yep, we couldn’t even see what it looked like, or would look like…but I just knew it was the one. I looked at the paper plans, walked through the framed rooms (just wood, no walls or anything) and I just wanted this house.

We ended up closing on our former house at the end of September, but our new house wasn’t finished being built. We had to go live in a temporary apartment 45 minutes away from where we lived. It was a very stressful, unsettling time.

The day we closed on our new house (October 30, 2009) was such an awesome, happy day! It made everything worth while. Our house is amazing and I am forever thankful and blessed that we all get to live here. The space is wonderful, the kids love it. We will have many, many happy years here.

He walks… Posted by Katie

Our smallest (by age, not size!) boy is now a full-fledged walker! – He started to take some real steps June 20 and by June 21 he was walking all over the place.

As of today he is a pro and literally runs across the room at times. He is so funny :)

Here’s a cute pic of him (and then Kyne) taking a bath in the sink.

insink insink2

They’ve never had baths in the sink before. Daddy thought it would be a quick and easy way to clean them up after a messy dinner. It wasn’t.

His school Spring/Summer photos arrived and we really love them. He is so grown up now (looks-wise, I wouldn’t say attitude wise ;) )
